Sandisk & Kodak Compact Flash Cards
Canon EOS 5D uses a compact flash card to record images. The camera accepts Type I or Type II compact flash cards. The 5D is also compatable with Microdrive cards with 2GB.

 

To install the CF card (as you are looking at display screen) : Pull door toward you and flip up. Front of CF card goes toward you and the "CF holes" go in first. Press firm. Only the last bit (1/10") offers resistance. Flip door and push into lock position.

Check the LCD panel for remaining # of shots, CF Full or CF error messages

To remove the CF card (as you are looking at display screen): Pull the door toward you and flip up. Push the CF eject button (located under the door). Pull card out.

When the access lamp is lit or blinking, it indicates that the images are being written to or read by the CF card. If the light is blinking or lit, becareful not to bang the camera, open the CF door or remove the battery.
