This picture of a baby boy was shot with a 200mm lens and a bounce flash. I wanted a shot with his face and hands and he was teething, so I laid him on a black cloth and he did the rest.
- When in doubt, get as close to the subject as you can. Really show their face, hair, hands, feet.
- Using a black background (large towel, sheet...etc) keeps the distractions out of the picture.
- Most babies have perfect skin, so shooting them without clothing allows everyone to see the subject and not his outfit.
